Ancient Temple desecrated, idols broken

Case Summary
On August 8, an unidentified individual vandalised the Kal Bhairav Dada temple next to the Dudheshwar crematorium along a river bank in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. The miscreant vandalised the riverfront temple and also caused damage to the Hindu idol deities. The eye of the idol of Kal Bhairav Dada in the temple was missing. There was a small idol of Lord Shankar which was also completely broken. Further, the miscreant broke several tiles of the temples which had photos of Hindu Gods and Goddesses printed on them.
Why it is Hate Crime ?

Therefore, any desecration of these Hindu religious symbols and representations is considered religiously motivated hate crimes under this category. In this case, the perpetrator vandalised the temple and desecrated the idols placed in the temple. Such an attack on the premises of a temple that aims to cause harm to the temple or its devotees demonstrates the inherent animosity towards the Hindu faith, its places of worship, symbols of worship and its adherants that the perpetrator harboured. Further, it is important to mention here that though the last update was that the miscreant was unknown, regardless, the action stemmed out of hatred against Hinduism and resulted in the desecration of the sacred temple and would therefore be considered a religiously motivated hate crime.
