According to the family, the accused, Armaan, a barber from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, had been following the victim for some time before taking her to UP under false pretences. The victim was forcibly converted to Islam and renamed Fatima, with official documents falsely indicating her previous religion as Christianity. The family provided evidence of a marriage certificate written in Urdu, used to legitimise the forced conversion. While sharing her daughter's plight, the mother also accused the police of negligence. Geeta Devi said that when she had travelled to Rampur with the police to retrieve her daughter, she was compelled to finance the journey herself. During a brief meeting at the police station, she observed individuals signalling her daughter on what to say, raising concerns about coercion. The victim was isolated from her family, with no independent communication allowed, leading to fears that she was being held against her will. Despite the gravity of these allegations, the Solan police have yet to release an official statement. Meanwhile, Armaan has indicated plans to relocate to Hyderabad, further complicating the investigation. The victim's family continues to plead for justice, urging law enforcement to take decisive action against those responsible. With growing concerns over the young woman's safety, her family remains hopeful that authorities will intervene promptly to prevent further harm.
