Hindu woman raped near temple by unidentified individuals

Case Summary
In Urkondapeta village, Nagarkurnool district, a woman was gang-raped by unidentified individuals near the Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple. The victim had visited the temple with her relative for a darshan and had remained on the premises overnight. According to the police, the crime occurred around midnight when the woman stepped out to relieve herself. The perpetrators forcibly dragged her into the bushes, approximately 200 metres from the temple, and raped her. Her relative attempted to intervene but was overpowered and tied to a tree by the assailants before they committed the crime. The police recorded the victim’s statement and reportedly identified seven individuals involved in the assault. At the time of writing this report, an investigation was underway, and authorities were working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
