Hindu Dalit groom's wedding procession halted as Muslim men block the road, do not let the procession pass

Case Summary
In Todarpur village, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu Dalit groom named Sandeep Kumar faced obstruction from a Muslim group during his wedding procession. The group blocked the path and opposed the Dalit groom’s baraat (wedding procession), preventing it from proceeding. Sandeep Kumar was set to marry a woman named Bharti, and around 3 PM, preparations for the procession were in full swing, with attendees joyfully dancing. However, as the procession was about to move forward, a Muslim crowd closed off the road. When members of the Dalit community requested them to clear the way, they were met with threats and intimidation, effectively stopping the procession. Upon learning about the incident, Bajrang Dal members arrived at the location in support of the Dalit Hindu groom. To prevent any communal tension, police forces from multiple stations were deployed. Senior officials intervened, convincing the Muslim group to stand down, ensuring that the wedding procession could proceed safely. Bajrang Dal official Harish Kaushik stated that the Muslim community had opposed the wedding procession of a Dalit Hindu groom in Todarpur village. However, with the intervention of Bajrang Dal workers and the presence of police, the procession was carried out as planned. SP City Vyom Bindal confirmed that authorities had received reports of an attempt to stop the procession. In response, police from several stations were dispatched to maintain security. Eventually, both sides were pacified, and the groom was able to take out his wedding procession without further disruption.
