In the Alwar Gate police station area in Ajmer, Rajasthan, a Hindu family accused a Muslim man that their daughter was coerced to convert to Islam for the sake of marriage. On the complaint of the girl's brother, Alwar Gate police station had registered a case and had started an investigation. According to police station in-charge Narendra Singh Jakhar, the Muslim boy and the Hindu girl lived together for 4 years. The Muslim man had applied to the Tonk District Collector for marriage registration. In a public notice issued by the Tonk Collector, it was stated that a Muslim man had applied for marriage registration with a Hindu woman, if anyone had any objection, they should register it within 30 days. The girl's brother alleged in the complaint that his sister was being fraudulently converted to Islam and married by a Muslim man.
