Case Summary

In Malikapur village, located within the Sadar Kotwali area of Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, thieves have looted two temples. According to reports, the thieves stole an 11-kilogram brass bell, the throne of Lord Shaligram, and copper utensils from the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. Additionally, from the Kali Devi Temple in the village, they took away all the brass bells. The police have commenced an investigation into the matter. Just four days ago, incidents of theft were reported in three temples in Chhibramau within the district. The thieves targeted the Maa Kalika Devi Temple on Saurikh Road, the ancient Hanuman Temple in Baba Ki Bagiya, and the Siddh Baba Temple in Akbarpur village. During the theft, they also removed the eyes of the goddess idol. Furthermore, they broke open the donation boxes and looted cash, jewellery, and other valuables, amounting to approximately Rs 10 lakh in total.
