Case Summary
In the Sribhumi district of Assam, a Hindu nurse died by suicide after being deceived by a Muslim man posing as a Hindu. The victim worked as a nurse at the Red Cross Hospital in Sribhumi town. According to a news report, a Muslim man named Sahil Ahmed trapped the Hindu woman by hiding his religious identity and introducing himself as ‘Raja’. Sahil worked as a driver for her brother, through whom the two became acquainted. Eventually, they began living together at Lakhicharan Road, Karimganj, during which time the perpetrator sexually exploited her. Recently, the woman inquired about Sahil’s background with her brother, who revealed that he was a Muslim. Upon discovering his true identity, the Hindu woman ended the relationship. However, Sahil Ahmed began blackmailing her after the breakup. Unable to bear the pressure, she died by suicide. Following her death, the accused attempted to flee, but an angry mob caught him and handed him over to the police. He was subsequently arrested.
