Case Summary

In Agra, Uttar Pradesh, two Hindu sisters were systematically groomed, brainwashed, and converted by a Muslim woman named Saima, who is part of a conversion gang. The incident began when the elder sister, a college student, came into contact with a Muslim woman named Saima, a resident of Udhampur, J&K. Over time, Saima brainwashed and groomed her, which led to her sudden disappearance in 2021. Though she returned home, her behaviour had changed drastically. She was so brainwashed that she started influencing her younger sister as well. Eventually, both sisters went missing on March 25, 2025. Despite the family’s pleas, the police initially did not take any action, citing the fact that both girls were adults. It was only on May 4, 2025, after continued pressure from the family, that an FIR was registered. In the FIR, the victim's father stated that Saima had taken away both his daughters. He also said that Saima wants to get his daughters married. Preliminary investigation revealed that the two Hindu sisters have fallen victim to an Islamic conversion gang. Police also said that the victims were brainwashed to a point that they have now become a part of that conversion gang. The police also found the conversion gang has links across India, including J&K, West Bengal and Delhi-NCR. As of the date of writing this report, the investigation was ongoing, and police were making efforts to rescue the two girls.

Why it is Hate Crime ?

This case involves the systematic grooming, brainwashing, and religious conversion of two Hindu sisters in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, orchestrated by a Muslim woman named Saima, a resident of Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir. This case potentially reflects religious targeting, as it follows a documented pattern wherein Hindu women have been systematically targeted by Muslim individuals or networks for the purpose of religious conversion through psychological manipulation, grooming, or coercion. The existence of a wider conversion gang operating across multiple states strengthens the suspicion of an ideological motive behind the incident. However, since the victims are adults and no formal testimony from them has been recorded indicating coercion, force, or religious pressure, the case will remain in the ‘Undecided’ category. It may be reclassified if future developments provide conclusive evidence of religiously motivated grooming or conversion. Disclaimer: It is important to clarify that the report does not specify the exact date when the victim's ordeal began, but it mentions that both the sisters disappeared from their home on March 25, 2025.. Since this is the earliest date mentioned, we are considering this as the incident date.
