Minor Hindu girl kidnapped and raped by a Muslim man in Uttar Pradesh

Case Summary
In the Ikauna Nagar area of the Shravasti district, a minor Hindu girl, aged 7, was kidnapped and raped by a Muslim man named Allauddin, who was jailed previously for raping another girl. The Muslim accused, who drives an electric rickshaw, lured the minor Hindu girl and kidnapped her in his vehicle before sexually exploiting her. After raping her he abandoned the victim on the Bahraich-Bhinga highway and ran away. Based on the complaint filed by the girl's parents, the Shravasti police initiated a search to catch the accused. On May 12, 2025, based on intelligence suggesting he was attempting to flee to Nepal, police located and apprehended Allauddin near the Andharpurwa Ghat bridge. Police recovered an e-rickshaw, a firearm and some cartridges from his possession. Police in their statement said that Allauddin is a repeat offender with a history of violent crime, including a previous conviction for the rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl in 2011-12, as well as multiple cases of sexual harassment and issuing threats. A fresh case has also been registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Arms Act.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
This case has been added to the Undecided database as there is currently no concrete evidence to establish that the minor Hindu girl was targeted by the accused, a Muslim man, based on her religious identity. Nor is there any conclusive indication of any religious motive behind the crime. Therefore, it might very well be that it was a crime of opportunity rather than a religion-based targeting. While the accused has a known history of sexually assaulting minor girls, including a prior conviction for the rape and murder of a 10-year-old, we again lack sufficient proof regarding the religious identities of his previous victims or any indication that they were targeted for being Hindu. Although this is on the line of a pattern where Muslim men have targeted minor Hindu girls for conversion, trafficking or sexual exploitation, but in the absence of such evidence, we will keep this case in the Undecided database. Should further information emerge during the investigation, particularly regarding any religious motivation behind the crime, the case will be re-evaluated and reclassified as a hate crime.
