Four minor Hindu girls kidnapped by multiple Muslim men

Case Summary
In the Baliapur police station area of Dhanbad district, four Hindu minor girls were reported missing, which led to concern among the families and the local community. After the families filed complaints with the police, they also informed local members of Bajrang Dal, who began searching for the girls independently. Police tracked one of the girls using mobile surveillance, which led to the recovery of all four girls from the Sindri area. All were found safe. During the investigation, the police detained four Muslim youths from the same area in connection with the case. According to Bajrang Dal representatives, the girls were being lured and taken out of the state, with plans to move them to Gujarat. The Bajrang dal said that the aim was to trap the girls under false pretences. These concerns are part of a broader pattern they highlight, where Hindu girls are being targeted. At the time of filing this report, the case was under investigation. The police had not released detailed findings, and the role of the detained individuals was being examined. Authorities assured that appropriate legal action would be taken based on evidence.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
There is strong suspicion that the four Muslim men involved in the kidnapping of the four minor Hindu girls may have targeted them based on their religious identity. The fact that all the victims were Hindu minors raises concerns, as it seems unlikely to be a mere coincidence. This situation aligns with a pattern observed in various cases, where individuals from the Muslim community have targeted women and minors from the Hindu community for purposes such as conversion, sexual exploitation, or trafficking. However, as the case is still under investigation and the police have not yet made any statements regarding a religious motive, we cannot conclusively classify this case as a religious hate crime at this stage. Additionally, the victim’s family has not indicated that they believe the incident was motivated by religious hatred. Without clear evidence of such intent, the case cannot be definitively categorised as a religious hate crime at this time. For these reasons, the case is currently being recorded in the undecided database. Should further information emerge during the investigation, particularly regarding any religious motivation behind the crime, the case will be re-evaluated and reclassified as a hate crime.
