Gaurakshak murdered in Nanded, activists suspect the involvement of Sheikh Rafiq Mehboob gang and PFI connect

Case Summary
A deadly attack occurred on a group of cow protection activists in Nanded, Maharashtra. One activist died, and six others were injured after being attacked by smugglers in a suspicious vehicle. Around a dozen attackers reportedly fled the scene after the incident, which took place on Monday night, June 19, 2023. The incident happened in the Islampur police station area near the Telangana border. The vigilantes had stopped the vehicle, suspecting it of carrying cattle. When they attempted to search it, 10-12 people armed with sticks emerged and assaulted them. All seven activists were hospitalized, and one, Shekhar Rapoli, succumbed to his injuries. The police filed an FIR against the unknown attackers and launched an investigation.
