Minor Hindu girl commits suicide in Dehradun after writing a message with blood on wall, one Shadab accused

Case Summary
The lifeless body of a 17-year-old Hindu girl was found hanging in her home in Laxman Chowk, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. A message, "I am leaving your life, both of you be happy," was scrawled in blood on the wall of the room. The girl was reportedly in a relationship with a Muslim man named Shadab, and her family has accused him of driving her to suicide. The family, originally from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, lived in a rented house near the Kotwali police station. On the night of June 12, they were sleeping on the roof to escape the heat, but the girl went down to sleep in her room. Around 2 AM, her father came downstairs and discovered his daughter hanging from a noose. Shadab has been accused of luring the girl. Her friends told the police that Shadab had attempted to trap them as well and that he, along with his family, had been involved in entrapping Hindu girls. It is believed he ensnared the minor in his trap. The family members stated that although they were not at odds with the girl, she had been indoctrinated. Hindu activists have voiced apprehension over the possibility that Shadab might have forced the girl into a sexual relationship.
