In the Mawana area of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a Hindu girl was targeted, molested and subjected to death threats by a Muslim man named Kamar, and his two accomplices, Ajmal and Mannan. Before escaping, the accused threatened to make her photos and videos viral and warned that he would have his friends kill her if she resisted. Terrified by the situtation, the victim and her family approached the Mawana police station to file a complaint. When the matter reached the police, members of Hindu organisations gathered at the station and demanded immediate action against the accused. They created pressure on the authorities to arrest the accused, and the crowd dispersed only after the police assured them that a case would be registered.
