They also raised slogans such as “We want justice” and “Expel Firoz Ahmed.” Several organisations, including ABVP, Bajrang Dal, AASU and Swajatiya Student Organisation, protested outside the Sadar Police Station demanding strict punishment for the accused. Following this, the Muslim accused was arrested for attempting to rape the Hindu victim. Ahmed was apprehended by the police on the college premises. The accused was then taken into custody by the Goalpara police and remained under police custody.
