Minor Hindu girl from backward community abducted and gang raped by group of Muslim men in Jaisalmer

Case Summary
In Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, a minor Hindu girl, belonging to the Pakistan-displaced Bhil community, was kidnapped, sexually exploited and gang-raped by a group of Muslim men. According to reports, the primary accused, Fazal Mohammad, used to roam around the victim's house, and he gradually became friends with the victim. Then he asked her to meet him. On Valentine's Day, when the victim's parents had gone out, the accused called her to meet him, where he raped her and made several obscene videos of her. He threatened her that he would make the videos viral if she told anyone. Through these videos, he kept blackmailing her and raped her 8-10 times. The victim then got married on June 8, 2025, after which she came to her maternal home on June 27, 2025. However, on the night of July 28, Fazal, along with Qurban Khan, Sabir Khan, and another man, abducted her and took her to a room located at Mohangarh bypass. They gang-raped her and abandoned her on the road after threatening to kill her family. Out of fear, the victim remained silent at first but told her ordeal to her uncle, after which an FIR was filed at the women's police station in Jaisalmer on 5 August 2025. However, even after twenty days, no arrests were made, leading to public outrage. Members of the displaced Pakistani Hindu community staged a sit-in outside the Jaisalmer District Collectorate, demanding immediate arrests and strict punishment. They expressed deep anguish, saying they had left Pakistan to escape persecution, yet their daughters remained unsafe in India. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad characterised the crime as a case of love jihad and demanded harsh action against the perpetrators, while police said that the investigation was ongoing.
