In the Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, a cow was sexually violated by a Muslim man. The accused is identified as Pyare Miyan, son of Salim. According to media reports, the police stated that the accused, 45-year-old Pyare Miyan, is originally from Bihar and worked at a hotel in Sarai. On the day of the incident, he was found sexually violating a cow in Mukeri locality under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station. Passers-by witnessed the act and quickly informed the police. Why it is Hate Crime ?

The cow is considered sacred in the Hindu religion. The Vedas and all Hindu scriptures hold the same view that the cow is a holy animal. This incident involving a Muslim man sexually violating a cow is deeply reprehensible and extremely disturbing. Also, there is a precedent of cows being slaughtered and harmed as acts of hostility towards Hindus. As observed by a Gujarat court, several cases of cow slaughter (therefore, defilement of cows as well) were driven by the specific intent to hurt Hindu religious sentiments.
