During interrogation, Ansari stated that he had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and intended to settle in Nepal. Police arrested Naushad Ansari as he attempted to flee to Nepal with the teenager. Ansari had illegally changed the girl’s name to Noor Jehan and obtained an Aadhaar card under this false identity. Following the registration of the case, he was taken into custody, produced before the court, and remanded to jail. Police initiated an investigation into his contacts in Nepal and are examining his mobile phone call records.
