Case Summary
In Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, a Dalit Hindu girl was abducted, gang-raped and pressurised for religious conversion by 3 Muslim youths. According to reports, the Hindu girl, a class 12 student, was walking home from school when three Muslim youth, named Shakir, Sameer, and Jackie of Sambal area, forcibly dragged her into their car, abducted her on July 4, 2025, and took her to Delhi. During her captivity in Delhi, she was gang-raped multiple times, which the medical reports also confirmed. Furthermore, she was also pressured for religious conversion by the three Muslim men. She was held at various locations across Delhi to avoid detection. Meanwhile, her family filed a police complaint when the girl did not return. Due to increased police vigilance, the accused released the girl in Moradabad on July 8, 2025. Due to increased police activity following the missing person report, the accused released the student in Moradabad on July 8, 2025. As of the date of writing this report, police had arrested Shakir and Sameer, while the third accused, Jackie, was absconding. All three accused are residents of the Sambhal district. It was also revealed that before the kidnapping, the Muslim accused were also teasing and harassing the Dalit Hindu girl.

Thus, she was abducted and gang-raped for the ultimate goal of religious conversion. Since such predatory actions stem from doctrinal animosity towards the Hindu faith and its adherents, this case is being documented as a religiously motivated hate crime.
