A Hindu girl student was teased and assaulted by a Muslim man named Aman alias Shahbaz in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. According to media reports, the incident occurred on September 23, 2025, while the victim was entering a library to study. The perpetrator chased the young girl, molested her at the library gate, and continued his attack inside the building. The CCTV footage documented the entire incident, showing the victim running into the library while screaming for assistance. Why it is Hate Crime ?

In this case, there is a strong suspicion that the Hindu victim was profiled on the basis of her religious identity by the Muslim perpetrator. He pursued the Hindu girl and continued to harass her. In many such incidents, victims are deliberately profiled on religious grounds and then targeted. The doctrinal and scriptural dehumanisation of non-Muslim girls, particularly Hindu girls, in Islamic theology further enables Muslim extremists to single them out as easy targets. At the same time, there remains a possibility that the Hindu girl was subjected to harassment as a crime of opportunity, without any religious motive.
