Case Summary

In Nainital, Uttarakhand, a 19-year-old Hindu woman was abducted, raped, held hostage and coerced to convert to Islam by a Muslim man named Suhail. This incident came to light when the woman's father filed a complaint against the Muslim man at the Bhawali police station on 15 February 2026. According to the complaint, the woman had been missing for the past three months (November 2025). The victim's father reported that Suhail, a resident of the Garampani area who ran a salon, had lured their daughter, kidnapped her, and taken her to Bijnor. Subsequently, the police safely recovered the girl from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh and then arrested Suhail at the Delhi-Bijnor border.
