Uttar Pradesh: Aamir, Faiz, Faraz gang-rape 20-year-old girl, lock her up at a tube well
Case Summary
On March 23, in Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkarnagar district, a Hindu girl was gang-raped by three Muslim individuals identified as Aamir, Faiz, and Mohammed Faraz. They were later arrested by the police and booked under several sections of the law. The 20-year-old victim was held hostage in a tube well and assaulted when she protested. She was rushed to the hospital in a bleeding condition. The incident occurred in the Hanswar police station area. The victim's father lodged a complaint stating that his daughter was forcibly taken to a deserted place by Faiz and Faraz while she was on her way to the market for coaching. Aamir also joined them, and the three accused gang-raped the victim one by one at the tube well. They assaulted her when she protested, and later locked her inside a room adjacent to the tube well. The family rescued the victim upon learning about the incident. A named FIR was registered against the accused under various sections of the IPC.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
In this case, the Muslim accused abducted the girl while she was on her way to her tuition and then assaulted her and gang-raped her. In several cases, such a heinous crime is perpetrated owing to animosity towards the religious identity of the victim.
