Minor Hindu girl sexually assaulted and pressured to convert to Islam by three Muslim youth

Case Summary
In Tumkur city of Karnataka, a minor Hindu girl was gang raped and pressured to convert to Islam by a Muslim youth named Akram and two of his friends. According to reports, the main accused approached the victim through social media and established contact over time. He manipulated her emotionally and used deceptive means to gain her trust. He, along with his other two aides, all from Uttar Pradesh, brought the minor girl, who is also a resident of Uttar Pradesh, to Tumkur city under the pretext of marrying her and getting her employed at a factory. There they continuously assaulted her and gang raped her for over three days. During this time, some people heard her screams and rescued her. The police were also informed. As of the date of writing this report, the accused were arrested by the police, and the investigation was ongoing. It was revealed that the girl was brought to Tumkur about a month ago and was kept in illegal confinement. The victim has been sent to the Child Protection unit.

Consequently, cases involving religious manipulation of minors not only represent an infringement on an individual's religious freedom but also demonstrate a calculated strategy of targeting those who are less able to resist or understand the long-term implications of conversion, making it a significant case of religious-motivated hate crime against Hindus.
