Case Summary

A minor Hindu girl was lured into a relationship and taken to a hotel by a Muslim man in Mathura. The accused, Kaleem, was arrested by the police in the Highway area of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, after being found with a minor Hindu girl at the Madhavi Palace hotel on 2nd December 2025. The police responded to a tip-off from members of a Hindu organisation, who had informed them of the situation. Upon reaching the hotel, the police took both individuals to the station. The police claimed that during the initial investigation, they found no evidence of coercion or any religious angle related to the incident. However, due to the girl's minor status, a case was filed against the man. The incident occurred at a hotel near Govardhan Chowk, where the PRV (Police Response Vehicle) team was alerted to the presence of the young man and girl in a hotel room. The team called them out of the room and took them to the police station. Shweta Verma, the Circle Officer (CO) of Refinery, confirmed the identity of the accused as Kaleem, son of Saleem, a resident of Rampur. Kaleem had been staying in Kota for NEET preparation. The girl, a resident of the Shergarh area in Mathura, had met Kaleem at a wedding in Punjab last month. After that, they kept in touch via social media. Kaleem had come to Mathura to meet the girl. During the police questioning, it was confirmed that the girl was a minor. The police contacted her family, who then filed a formal complaint against the accused. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and began further legal proceedings.

Why it is Hate Crime ?

In this case, a minor Hindu girl was groomed and taken to a hotel by the Muslim accused, Kaleem. This could potentially be a crime motivated by religious profiling, as it has been observed that in many cases, Muslim perpetrators target Hindu minor girls due to inherent animosity towards Hindus and minors being more vulnerable.
