Minor Hindu girl lured by a Muslim boy, converted to Islam and married in a mosque

Case Summary
A case involving the religious conversion and marriage of a minor has emerged in Dariyapur Vikku village, Shahabad tehsil, Hardoi district, Uttar Pradesh. The accused, Hasan lured a 16-year-old Hindu girl in Delhi under the guise of love. He reportedly kept her hidden in Delhi for 2-3 months before returning to his village, where he took her to a mosque. There, the girl was forcibly converted to Islam, renamed Isra Bano, and married to Hasan. Pawan Rastogi, District President of Kesariya Hindu Vahini, brought the matter to light. Following his report, the Superintendent of Police ordered an immediate raid in the village on November 27. While the girl was rescued, Hasan managed to escape but was later arrested after continuous police efforts. Hasan, identified as a Hafiz teaching in Delhi, has been charged under Section 27 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3/5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Religious Conversion Act, 2021.
