Muslim factory worker pushes Hindu worker from 4th floor during Diwali decoration over minor argument
Case Summary
In Delhi’s Bawana area, a factory worker, Ram Parkash, died after being pushed by a Muslim worker, Aslam, during an argument over two rotis. The incident occurred on October 29 while Ram Parkash and the other worker were decorating the factory for Diwali. Aslam, who was on the roof of a nearby factory, asked Ram Parkash for food. When Ram Parkash refused and suggested Aslam buy his own food, an argument ensued. In a fit of anger, Aslam pushed Ram Parkash, causing him to fall from the fourth floor. Ram Parkash succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at MV Hospital Pooth Khurd. Aslam fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police. Eyewitness accounts from other factory workers led to his arrest, and a case was registered against him.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
There is a strong suspicion in this case that the motivating factor for the murder of the Hindu worker by the Muslim perpetrator was religious in nature. The suspicions grow stronger because the crime occurred while the Hindu man was decorating the factory for Diwali - a major Hindu religious festival. The details of the report reveals that there was an argument before the Muslim perpetrator dragged the Hindu victim and threw him off the roof. In many cases, the immediate trigger of the violence may appear petty, however, the rage is driven by religious animosity and supremacist ideology. However, since there is a lack of information to substantiate the suspicion, this case is being added to the undecided database.
