Minor Hindu girl targeted in attempted rape by Muslim Man in Uttar Pradesh

In a village in the Talheri Buzurg area of Deoband, Uttar Pradesh, a five-year-old Hindu girl was the victim of an attempted rape by a Muslim man named Shariq. News reports state that the girl was playing outside her home when Shariq lured her to a secluded spot and attempted to rape her. Upon learning of the incident, Hindu organisations such as the Bajrang Dal intervened. Bajrang Dal leader Vikas Tyagi, along with other members of Hindu organisations, visited the police station to demand strict action from the authorities. Vikas Tyagi also visited the village, met the victim and her family, and assured them of all possible support. Vikas Tyagi stated that the accused possessed a ‘jihadi mindset’ and called for immediate and strict police action. The incident provoked anger among villagers, who also demanded the strictest possible action from the authorities. Tyagi said he had spoken with senior officials and assured the family that strict legal action would be taken against the accused.
