Large quantities of Cow meat and severed legs discovered at a Muslim man's residence

Case Summary
In Mohalla Pansariyan, a case involving large quantities of cow meat and severed legs has been uncovered at the residence of a Muslim man identified as Ayaz. The house is located on Badi Mata Mandir Road, where the cow meat was found on the third floor of the building. As cow slaughter is banned in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the uncovering of such large quantities of cow meat is rather concerning. Following this, members of the VHP and Bajrang Dal, including leaders Pradeep Rana and Vishal Nirwal, met with the Superintendent of Police to raise concerns about the handling of the case by local authorities. The groups questioned how the meat reached the third floor, the origin of the meat, the location where the cow was slaughtered, and the vehicle used to transport it. They pointed out that CCTV cameras are installed throughout the area, yet the police have not been able to provide any answers regarding these details. Additionally, the groups accused the police of procedural lapses, including sending the accused to jail without proper disclosure of facts or investigation. They expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of transparency in the way the police are handling the matter. In response, the Superintendent of Police assured them that a detailed investigation into the matter would be conducted. As of the date of writing this report, the investigation is still ongoing.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
The cow is considered sacred in the Hindu religion. Often, cows are slaughtered by non-Hindu perpetrators as a mark of insult to the Hindu faith. There have been several documented cases throughout history where cow slaughter is used as a method to insult the Hindu faith, convert Hindus (by force-feeding beef) and desecrate temples. In all cases of cow slaughter, there is a suspicion of religious animosity against Hindus working as a motivating factor, however, in the absence of any concrete indication, this case is being categorised as Undecided. If more details emerge, it would be added to the Hate Crime Database.
