A minor Hindu girl in Vikasnagar, Dehradun, experienced terror when a Muslim man named Aqib attempted to kidnap her from her neighbour’s house while her parents were away and her brother, who had just returned from work, was sleeping at home. The accused forcibly applied vermilion to her forehead and attempted to drag her away. She resisted the attacker fiercely, but he mistreated her, tore her clothes, molested her, and threatened to kill her.
