Minor Hindu boy kidnapped and murdered by Muslim men in Bihar
Case Summary
Aditya Kumar, a 12-year-old Dalit boy from Madhubani, Bihar, was kidnapped and murdered by Muslim men. He was the only child of Shiv Kumar, a watchman at the Arariya Sangram police station. The case is of Piproliya village, where on 13 October 2025, Aditya went missing, sparking a frantic search by his family. After hours of searching, his family filed a missing person complaint with the police on 14 October 2025. Shortly afterwards, they received a ransom demand from the kidnappers via social media, threatening to send Aditya’s body in pieces unless they received Rs 25 lakh. It was later revealed that the mastermind behind this gruesome murder was Mohammad Jilani, the village sarpanch, who had been involved in illegal activities, including the alcohol trade. Jilani, along with his associates, Mohammad Faiyaz and Mohammad Gulnawaz, orchestrated the murder. It was discovered during the investigation that Jilani had pressured Shiv Kumar, the victim’s father, into assisting with his criminal enterprises. When Shiv Kumar resisted, Jilani, in a vile turn of events, bribed Aditya's friends with Rs 50,000 to plot the boy's abduction and subsequent murder. On the night of 14 October, Aditya was lured to a dilapidated building under the pretext of playing. There, he was murdered in cold blood, and his body was disposed of in a nearby paddy field. The accused also created a ruse of demanding ransom to throw off the investigation. The horrific nature of the crime has left the family, especially Aditya’s parents, in profound grief and shock. The case has also drawn attention from prominent political figures. Central Minister and BJP MP Giriraj Singh expressed his condolences on social media, condemning the brutal murder. He described the incident as a "jihadi act" that shattered the life of a Dalit family. Singh also questioned how individuals like Mohammad Faiyaz and his associates dared to carry out such a heinous act, and called for a thorough investigation into the incident. What further shocked the local community was the lack of response from local Dalit leaders and social organisations. Despite the severity of the crime, there was no representative from these groups to console the grieving family or support the investigation. The police arrested the primary suspects — Mohammad Jilani, Mohammad Faiyaz, and Mohammad Gulnawaz — and, as per the writing of this piece, the investigation was ongoing. The authorities promised a thorough and impartial investigation.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
In this case, a minor Hindu boy was abducted and murdered by three muslim men to exact revenge against his father. There is enough precedence that the sheer brutality shown by Muslim criminals towards Hindu victims stems from their inherent hatred towards Hindu identity, and murdering an innocent child to teach his father a lesson is especially vicious. However, at present, there is no clear evidence to state that the crime was religiously motivated. It is therefore highly possible that this crime was committed to seek revenge against the victim's father for refusing to facilitate the accused's illegal demand. Due to these factors, the case has been classified as 'Undecided' and has been added to the Undecided database. If any further information emerges suggesting a religious motive behind the attack, then the case will be reassessed and included in the hate crime database.
