Muslim youths pour boiling oil on Hindu youth, family alleges Hindus targetted regularly in the area

Case Summary
In the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, a case of pouring boiling oil on a Hindu youth, Vikas Saini, with the intent to kill him surfaced. Vikas, critically injured, was admitted to the hospital, while another youth named Subhash also suffered injuries while trying to save Vikas. The incident occurred on April 7, 2024, in the Gulavathi police station area. The attackers, identified as Abu Nasar, Shaukeen, and Ajaib, assaulted Vikas in a vegetable market, where they also sold vegetables illegally. The accused, known as the Qureshi family with a criminal record, reportedly had been threatening Vikas daily. On the day of the incident, they attacked Vikas, snatched money from him, and poured boiling oil on his chest. Subhash, attempting to intervene, also got injured. Vikas's family demanded stringent action against the accused, asserting that they have been habitual offenders known for targeting Hindus in the area. Moreover, they said that the local police station had previously taken insufficient action when a Dalit youth named Hrithik was brutally beaten by the same assailants. Photographs of Vikas admitted to the hospital depicted the severity of his burns. Despite this, no arrests had been made. Additionally, Haji Modu, Shaukeen's father, filed a counter-complaint against Vikas's family members, including Raju Saini, Hrithik, Vishal, and others. Haji Modu accused them of assaulting his relatives and damaging his vehicles.

Still what makes this case eligible to be included in the tracker is the testimony of the victims, who themselves asserted that the attacks on Hindus by local Muslims were a regular phenomenon in their locality. The victim's family also said that the accused were habitual offenders known for targeting Hindus in the area.
