Case Summary

In Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, a minor Hindu girl and her Hindu friend were sexually exploited by two Muslim men, Arsh Khan and his friend Faiz Khan. The case came to light in the Piplod police station area. The girls stated that the men made objectionable videos of them and used these to blackmail and exploit them. They further stated that their obscene videos and photos were then uploaded to social media. According to media reports, one of the girls was a 9th-grade student, and the other lived nearby. Their families brought them to the police station and filed a complaint against Arsh Khan and Faiz Khan for raping them. The victims stated that Arsh Khan made objectionable videos and photos of them and then repeatedly raped them, threatening to release the videos if they did not comply. He shared the videos and photos with Faiz Khan, who also began blackmailing the girls for sexual favours. When they refused, he uploaded the videos on social media. Following this, Faiz Khan raped the minor victim's Hindu friend. The police then began investigating the matter. Meanwhile, numerous members and activists from a Hindu organisation gathered at the police station, demanding strict action against the perpetrators and accusing them of practising "love jihad." This term describes crimes in which Muslim men target Hindu women and girls to marry or form romantic relationships with them, often for the agenda of sexual exploitation and religious conversion, rooted in religious animosity towards Hinduism. On the other hand, Arsh Khan’s family claimed that he was friends with one of the girls. They further claimed that after Arsh distanced himself from her, she began messaging him, his family, and friends in an attempt to rekindle the relationship. When the situation escalated, it reached the police station. Arsh Khan’s family denied the allegations of blackmail and sexual exploitation.

Why it is Hate Crime ?

In this case, two Hindu girls were sexually exploited and raped by two Muslim men, Arsh Khan and Faiz Khan. They recorded obscene videos of the victims, which they then used to blackmail and further exploit them. When the victims refused to comply with the demands for sexual favours, the perpetrators uploaded their obscene videos and photos on social media. Such actions raise grave concerns about religious profiling and the targeting of Hindu girls. It is evident from multiple previous cases that Muslim men target Hindu girls in this manner, driven by deep-seated religious animosity towards Hinduism and the Hindu community at large. Hindu girls and women are highly vulnerable to sexual exploitation at the hands of Muslim men. Some may question that if the crime were simply about sexual exploitation, it would have been easier for the perpetrators to target Muslim girls. The deliberate targeting of Hindu girls demonstrates a clear pattern of religious prejudice. However, this remains subject to further investigation, as it is also possible that the perpetrators acted opportunistically rather than with explicit religious hatred. At present, no concrete evidence confirms religious animosity as the motive behind the crime. Neither the victims nor their families have said that the crime was motivated by religious hatred. Consequently, this case has been added to the Undecided database. If any further information emerges establishing that the crime was committed with the intent to target the victims for their Hindu faith, the case will be reassessed and moved to the hate crime database within the Hinduphobia Tracker. Disclaimer: This case was reported by the media on 18th September 2025. The Hinduphobia Tracker records cases based on when the victim’s ordeal began, not when it is reported by the media.
