Case Summary
A cow was rescued by the police, and a cow slaughter nexus was uncovered in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Police arrested two Muslim men, Shahzaad and Salim, for involvement in cow slaughter. SP City Satya Narayan Prajapat stated at the Police Line Auditorium, the Chhapar police station team raided the road from Maharaypur to Khudda on the night of 19th August 2025, acting on information about cow slaughter. Upon seeing the police, the two accused attempted to flee. Shahzaad, one of the accused, was injured during the police encounter, and his partner was also apprehended. Police arrested Shahzaad and Salim, both residents of Khudda. Reports confirmed that both accused would roam in the forest during the day to capture stray animals and tie them up, returning at night to slaughter cows. The police managed to free and save one cow. The accused also bought old cows from farmers and slaughtered them. The arrested and injured Shahzaad was identified as a history-sheeter criminal from Chhapar police station, with eight cases registered against him under serious sections, including cow slaughter. His partner, Salim from Khudda, already had a case registered against him. Both accused were formally charged. CO Sadar Ravi Shankar Mishra was present during the operation.
