In Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, two Hindu girls were targeted and trapped into a relationship under false pretences and raped by a Muslim man named Asif. According to reports, Asif owns a tractor-trolley, rotavator, and other farming equipment, offering agricultural services to the villagers. Because of this, he developed contacts with the villagers, including the family of the victims. Through such connections, after getting the phone number, Asif contacted the Hindu girl and targeted her. Simultaneously, he also contacted the cousin of the first girl and targeted her as well. He frequently contacted both of them under the pretext of discussing farm-related work. Gradually, he lured and groomed both of them under false pretences, affectionate talk, and promises of gifts. He pretended to love them and then exploited their trust and raped both girls separately. When the family learned of the incidents and complained, Asif also threatened to kill them. Following a complaint submitted by one of the victims' fathers, police promptly registered a case and arrested the accused. Furthermore, police confirmed that during interrogation, Asif admitted that he was deliberately targeting Hindu girls. The investigation was ongoing, and further legal action was being taken.
