Further investigation traced the number to a Muslim man whose current location was identified as Gujarat. Later, the missing woman’s mobile location also indicated that she was in Gujarat. Her father alleged that the man had lured her away and taken her there. The family was distraught over the police’s lack of action, fearing for the woman's safety. The family stated that neither did the police file an FIR nor did they try to find the missing woman. The father reiterated his suspicion of 'Love Jihad' and lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Minister, demanding that an FIR be registered, his daughter be rescued, and strict action be taken against the accused.
