Minor Hindu girl sexually harassed and shown obscene videos by Muslim shopkeeper in Geedam

In Geedam town, in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, a 15-year-old Hindu girl was harassed by a Muslim man named Mohammad Rafiq Khan. He exposed his private parts to the girl and showed her pornographic videos. According to news reports, the minor Hindu girl, accompanied by her brother, had gone to Rafiq's shop to get her watch repaired. While there, Rafiq played pornographic videos and then pulled down his pants, exposing himself to the girl. The victim was horrified by this. She immediately ran away from the shop, returning home to inform her mother about the incident. Her father, along with members of Hindu organisations, went to Rafiq's shop to confront him, but he had already left to visit a nearby mosque. The victim’s father and the group went to the mosque, but Rafiq managed to escape from there as well. Frustrated by the situation, the father of the victim and the Hindu group blocked National Highway 63 and staged a protest, demanding Rafiq’s arrest. The police intervened to calm the protesters and arrested Rafiq. An FIR was lodged against him under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
