Muslim cow smugglers export beef by packing it as buffalo meat, arrested

Case Summary
The Crime Branch of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Dadri Police conducted a joint operation and arrested two accused involved in smuggling cow meat by packing it as buffalo meat. The arrested individuals have been identified as Faraz Khan (General Manager, Altbarak Frozen Food Private Limited) and Rehan Khan (Meat Export Manager). During interrogation, the accused confessed that they were secretly slaughtering stray cattle, purchasing meat from illegal cow slaughterers, and repackaging it as buffalo meat for export. The illicit meat was purchased by Carnifresh Private Limited from Altbarak Frozen Food Private Limited and stored at SPJ Cold Storage. Upon inspection, the meat stored in the cold storage was found to be of a banned category. A case has been registered at Dadri Police Station, and legal action is being taken against both accused under multiple sections of the law. According to the police, Faraz Khan, a native of Raksha village, Dildar Nagar police station, Ghazipur district, currently residing in Civil Lines, Aligarh, and Rehan Khan, a resident of Dodhpur Medical Road, Civil Lines police station, Aligarh, have been arrested. It is noteworthy that complaints were received regarding the storage of banned meat inside cold storage facilities and its distribution disguised as other types of meat, prompting the police to conduct frequent inspections. Investigations are also underway to trace the network involved in this operation. Previously, the police had busted similar illegal cold storage operations in Ghaziabad.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
The cow is considered sacred in the Hindu religion. Often, cows are slaughtered by non-Hindu perpetrators as a mark of insult to the Hindu faith. There have been several documented cases throughout history where cow slaughter is used as a method to insult the Hindu faith, convert Hindus (by force-feeding beef) and desecrate temples. In all cases of cow slaughter, there is a suspicion of religious animosity against Hindus working as a motivating factor, however, in the absence of any concrete indication, this case is being categorised as Undecided. If more details emerge, it would be added to the Hate Crime Database.
