Muslim man sexually harasses Hindu minor girl, blackmails and threatens to kill for refusing his advances

In Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, a minor Hindu girl was constantly harassed and molested by a Muslim man named Shamsuddin. He used to click random pictures of the girl and threatened to edit and sexually morph them and make them viral on Instagram to destroy the girl's reputation in society. Shamsuddin would stop her in the middle of the road while the girl was on her way to school and threaten to kill her and her family if she didn't agree to fulfil all his demands. Shamsuddin threatened the girl that he would kill her and destroy her reputation by inappropriately editing her photos. The mother of the victim filed a complaint at the nearby police station and wished for Shamsuddin's arrest. An X handle named 'TheTreeni' had shared a video of the victim's mother narrating this incident.

In this case, there is a strong suspicion that the victim was profiled based on her religious identity. The perpetrator pursued the Hindu girl and continued to harass her. He threatened to kill her and her family members and destroy her reputation by morphing her pictures and releasing them on social media if she refused his advances. In many such cases, the victims are profiled based on religious identity and then pursued. Further, the dehumanisation of Hindu women in a doctrinal and scriptural sense makes it far easier for Muslim extremists to target Hindu women. However, there is also a possibility that the woman was harassed as a crime of opportunity and no religious motive existed.
