Hindu woman lured into relationship by Muslim man, forced to convert to Islam, offer Namaz

Case Summary
In the Didauli police station area of Amroha, Sajid Ali, a Muslim man, trapped a Hindu woman in a love affair and forced her to convert her religion. The two worked together at a beauty parlour, where Sajid manipulated the victim into a relationship. Sajid established physical relations with the woman and during that, he recorded an obscene video of hers. He later used this video to blackmail her, threatening to make it public unless she converted to Islam. He pressured her to read Namaaz daily, and when she refused, he physically assaulted her. The victim filed a complaint at Didauli police station, and police quickly responded by arresting the accused. Sajid Ali was charged under relevant sections of the law, and his brothers, Nasir Ali and Akhtar Ali were also booked for their involvement in the abuse.

However, the religious motive became apparent when the accused began pressuring her to renounce her faith and convert to Islam. He not only violated her by raping her but also recorded obscene videos to blackmail her into converting to Islam. Further, he pressured her to adhere to Islamic practices, such as offering Namaz, effectively coercing her to abandon her Hindu identity and adopt a different religious tradition against her will. Such acts go beyond mere criminal behaviour; it is a calculated and malicious attack on her religious identity. By giving her false assurance that her faith would not be an obstacle to their relationship the Muslim perpetrator betrays the girl's trust, manipulating her into a situation where he can coerce her into abandoning her faith. The use of blackmail to force conversion is a clear demonstration of religious hate, as it targets the victim's religious beliefs and seeks to erase her identity. This case is a glaring example of how deep-seated intolerance can manifest in violent and coercive actions, with the ultimate goal of religious subjugation and domination. The deliberate nature of the deception and the subsequent attempt to force conversion highlights the extent of disdain the accused harboured for the victim's faith, making this a clear case of religiously motivated hate.
