Case Summary
Police intercepted a container truck loaded with cattle near the Rampur Buzurg check post in the Bankata police station area. Upon inspection, authorities discovered 22 bovine animals inside the vehicle. Three cattle smugglers were arrested on the spot. According to Bankata SHO Santosh Kumar Singh, the police were conducting routine vehicle checks on January 26 when they stopped the container truck. A thorough search led to the recovery of the cattle. The arrested smugglers were identified as Babar, son of Nausaad alias Nauseli, from Nagra village in Ayodhya district, Ansar Banjara, son of Gatiyar, from Kitarpur Basanda in Amethi, and Saddam alias Pole, son of Ghulam Hussain, from Sarai Salim Saraiya in Barabanki. Legal action was taken against the accused under relevant laws.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
The cow holds a sacred status in Hinduism. Non-Hindu perpetrators have often slaughtered cows as an act of deliberate disrespect toward the Hindu faith. Historically, numerous documented cases show that cow slaughter has been used to insult Hindu beliefs, coerce conversions by force-feeding beef and desecrating temples. While religious animosity against Hindus is frequently suspected as a motivating factor in such incidents, this particular case is being classified as 'undecided' due to the lack of concrete evidence. If further details emerge, it will be added to the hate crime database accordingly.
