Tribal Hindu woman brutally murdered by Muslim man for rejecting advances

Case Summary
A tribal woman, Manju Devi, was brutally murdered in Chakrawali village, Gola police station area. Her throat was slit, leaving behind her husband, Kalindra Munda, and two young children. The accused, Afsar Ansari, alias Raja Ansari, a cupboard mechanic from the same village and a native of Chas, Bokaro, fled the scene after committing the crime. The incident occurred after Manju returned home with her family from a fair in Chopadaru village. While her husband went to the Maganpur market, the crime took place in their house. Upon his return, Kalindra discovered her lifeless body and blood at the scene. Two days before the incident, Kalindra reportedly received a threatening call, which he informed the police about. The accused, Raja Ansari, was arrested the next morning on January 26. According to police investigations, Raja had been harassing Manju for years, attempting to trap her in a "love affair." It was found that he had ulterior motives, targeting compensation money received by Kalindra for land acquired under the Bharatmala project. The funds had allowed the family to build a new home, which Raja reportedly envied. Raja's advances were rejected by Manju, and his resentment culminated in the tragic murder. Gola police station in-charge, Abhishek Pratap, confirmed the arrest of Raja Ansari, who was then sent to jail.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
Based on the available information, this case appears to involve a one-sided obsession, where the Muslim accused was pursuing the Hindu woman, attempting to entrap her in a relationship, and ultimately killing her when she rejected his advances. While such crimes are often driven by underlying religious resentment or animosity, there is currently no clear evidence or indication to confirm a religious motive in this instance. As a result, the case is being categorised as 'undecided.' If further information emerges that substantiates a religious motive, it will be included in the hate crime database.
