The following morning, neighbours discovered the girl in distress and informed the police, but Ramzan had escaped before their arrival. The victim and her father sought help from a local Hindu organisation, which guided them to the District Child Welfare Committee. Acting promptly, CWC Chairman Deepak Tiwari intervened and ensured that an FIR was filed at the Kotwali police station. Hindu organisations expressed outrage over the crime, describing it as another case of systematic targeting of Hindu girls. Following this, the police launched a search operation and swiftly arrested the accused. He was presented before the court on 5 November 2025 and remanded to judicial custody. The police confirmed that legal proceedings had commenced against him for the abduction, unlawful confinement, and rape of a minor.
