Muslim men caught smuggling cattle for slaughtering, 26 cows recovered

Case Summary
Three cow smugglers were arrested, and 26 cows were rescued by the CIA team from Firozpur Jhirka police station in Nuh district, Haryana, on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. One suspect managed to escape. A case was registered against four individuals, and further investigation was initiated. Acting on a tip-off, the police learned that Rashid from Mewali, Salim from Sundh, Nafeesh from Khedla, and Billadin from Tijara district, Alwar, were transporting cattle for slaughter in Rajasthan. The smugglers had crammed the cattle into a container vehicle. The police set up a blockade near the Ghata Shamshabad bridge to intercept them, but the smugglers broke through and sped away. During the pursuit, the smugglers' vehicle suffered a punctured tyre, causing it to lose control. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee. Police apprehended Rashid, Salim, and Billadin, while Nafeesh managed to escape. The arrested individuals were presented in court and sent to jail. The rescued cows were taken to the nearest Gaushala for care.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
The cow is considered sacred in the Hindu religion. Often, cows are slaughtered by non-Hindu perpetrators as a mark of insult to the Hindu faith. There have been several documented cases throughout history where cow slaughter is used as a method to insult the Hindu faith, convert Hindus (by force-feeding beef) and desecrate temples. In all cases of cow slaughter, there is a suspicion of religious animosity against Hindus working as a motivating factor, however, in the absence of any concrete indication, this case is being categorised as 'undecided'. If more details emerge, it would be added to the hate crime database.
