Police in Assam’s Nagaon district apprehended 18 individuals involved in cattle smuggling in the Kachua area of Kampur. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted nine pickup trucks transporting 108 cattle without valid documentation. For that reason, there is a strong suspicion that this case in and of itself could be driven by religious animosity and hostility.
