In Shivamogga, Karnataka, a Hindu youth was seriously injured after being stabbed by four Muslim boys. The Hindu youth had stopped Muslims from performing stunts in the street in front of his house. Angered by this, the Muslim boys injured the Hindu youth by stabbing him in the chest and stomach. Despite Sushil's refusal to allow this, the Muslim boys initially left but later returned with reinforcements and attacked Sushil, beating and stabbing him.

Why it is Hate Crime ?

In this case, a Hindu youth attempted to stop the Muslim boys from performing stunts in front of his house. There are strong suspicions that the Muslim boys stabbed and attacked the Hindu victim because of their religious supremacist feelings, believing that the Hindu man had no authority over Muslims to dictate what they can or can't do - since non-Muslims are considered unequal in Islam. However, since there is no clear indication of a religious motive in the crime, it is being categorised as undecided. If more information emerges, it would be added to the hate crime database.
