In the Nagar police station area of Jehanabad in Bihar, a 5-year-old Hindu girl was raped by a 19-year-old Muslim man. The accused was a resident of her own neighbourhood. However, when he was taken to the hospital, the people present got furious and attacked him. The locals shouted slogans demanding that the accused be handed over to them and punished on the spot. The incident occurred at Sadar Hospital in the Nagar police station area, where police struggled to control the situation. The police took a firm stand and were ultimately able to manage the situation. After tight security and considerable effort, the police team was able to get the accused medically examined and return him to the police station. An FIR was registered against the accused based on the complaint by the victim's mother, and the accused was arrested. He was sent to judicial custody. The Hindu victim was made to undergo a medical examination, and police said further action would be taken after the report came in. The investigation was still ongoing, and all aspects of the case were being examined. Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Manish Chandra Chaudhary stated that following the rape of the 5-year-old girl, some people became enraged and vandalised the accused’s home.
