Case Summary

Meer Faisal, working for Maktoob Media, posted a long thread on Twitter with several videos on the night of Ram Navami (30-31 March 2023). There were a total of 24 tweets in the thread, with a total of 30 videos, from which the 21st tweet has been deleted now. This is because the Rajasthan Police fact-checked it. He is supposed to have deleted the tweet after he learned that the Rajasthan Police were arresting those people who are spreading fake news in the case. The technique of propaganda used by Meer Faisal was to post a video and write 2-4 lines about it to baselessly associate Hindus with violence. Meer Faisal’s thread was retweeted by over 3900 people.
