Muslim men molest Hindu girl, one of them had a pattern of targeting Hindu women, stab brother and assault father for protesting

Case Summary
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, a Hindu youth named Saurabh Yadav was stabbed while protesting the molestation of his sister on June 4. The accused are Salman, Mubarik, Imran, and Sameer Khan. Police have arrested Salman and Imran, while Mubarik and Sameer Khan were at large. The incident occurred in the Janakganj police station area, where 59-year-old Balkishan Yadav runs a grocery shop. The assailants, all residents of the nearby Muslim-dominated Apaganj, harassed and assaulted Balkishan's daughter at the shop. When Saurabh arrived to defend his family, he was stabbed in the neck and face, sustaining serious injuries. Both Balkishan and his daughter also suffered minor injuries. Members of Hindu organisations, including Vasant Godyale of the Hindu Jagran Manch, condemned the attack and demanded action. Sameer Khan has a prior record of harassing a Hindu female.
Why it is Hate Crime ?
In several cases, Hindus are attacked for opposing religiously motivated crimes being committed against a fellow Hindu or simply for voicing an opinion opposing radical elements, who either have in the past or continue to persecute Hindus. In such cases, the initial attack against the victim, against which the Hindu was trying to defend the victim, would also need to be classified as a religiously motivated hate crime. Since the initial crime itself was religiously motivated and the subsequent crime of attempting to save the victim or speaking against the radical elements ends up inviting a violent attack, it would also be classified as a religiously motivated hate crime under this category. In this case, those who were trying to save the Hindu girl were brutally attacked by the Muslim perpetrators. On the face of it, this could be a case with no religious motivation for the crime, however, there are certain elements which indicate the religious animosity harboured by the perpetrators against the Hindu victims. Firstly, it is evident from the case that the perpetrators had a history of harassing Hindu women - this hints towards a pattern of religious profiling of victims. However, since there is no more information about the previous track record of the perpetrators, this case is being documented as a hate crime under the category which lists cases of attacks against victims for opposing radicals rather than the category which lists grooming cases - where Hindu women are targeted specifically based on their religious identity.
