Case Summary
Biswajit Mondal, the Headmaster of Orakandi Middle High School in Orakandi village, Kashiyani Upazila, Gopalganj district, was assaulted and humiliated by Islamists Aminur Rahman Sikdar, Khalil Molla, and others on July 2, 2024, during school hours. The incident occurred in front of students, causing them to become angry and stage a protest. The assailants left the premises before the situation escalated further. The students demanded the arrest of the perpetrators. Mondal filed a complaint with the Upazila Education Department Officer, who promised to take action after an initial investigation. Locals reported that Sikdar, a member of the school's management committee, led the attack. No action has been taken against the assailants so far.
