Alfesh Khan blackmails and pressures Hindu girl to convert to Islam, threatens when she refuses

Case Summary
In Gujarati College in Indore, one Alfesh Khan was arrested for blackmailing and pressuring a first-year student to convert to Islam. Alfesh, a resident of Double Chowki Dewas, befriended the Hindu girl. As their friendship progressed, Alfesh, who also studies at Gujarati College, began coercing her to convert to Islam. He told her that he would marry her only if she renounced her religion and converted to Islam. He also threatened her when she refused. Distressed, the student sought help from a Hindu organization and lodged an FIR with the Choti Gwaltoli police on Friday. The police, led by TI Umesh Yadav, took her statement and promptly registered a case against Alfesh. He was arrested later that night.

Being made to believe that her faith would not stand in the way of their relationship, the Hindu woman entered into a romantic relationship with the Muslim man. The Muslim man continued to take advantage of her physically under the guise of marriage, but when the girl pressed him to honour his word, his true intentions became clear. He forced the woman to give up her professed faith and convert to Islam. The case has been classified as a hate crime where indoctrination and manipulation were used since the Muslim male took advantage of the Hindu woman to convert her.
