Why it is Hate Crime ?
In this case, there seems to be no apparent motive for the crime. The Muslim perpetrator was a career criminal who had served time and it seems that without any provocation, he attacked and killed a Hindu man. In the absence of any provocation, it would appear that the motivation was religious hatred. However, in the absence of any indication of the religious motivated, this case is being documented in the undecided category. If more details emerge indicating at a religious motivation, the case would be added to the hate tracker database.
